PROGRAMS ON SEXUALITY:

“WHERE DO WE RUN WHEN THEY ASK: ‘WHERE DID I COME FROM?’ – TEACHING SEXUALITY TO  CHILDREN”

Whether toddlers or teens, children learn about sexuality from us. We can acknowledge that fact and anticipate what to teach, and how to talk about it, or we can pretend our children don’t know about sexuality and be assured that they will imagine and creatively fill in the blanks. This presentation teaches parents actual words they can use to introduce and conduct developmentally appropriate conversations about sexuality. It examines what infants, toddlers, and teens really know about sex and sexuality, and explores why it can be so challenging to talk about ourselves as sexual beings.

If every adult had a healthy, satisfying and responsible sexual relationship, what scourge of our world might fade away?  A discussion of personal sexual health and  freedom, and of responsible, satisfying sexual relationships.

The elegant forthrightness of Biblical passages on sexuality, the sexual monographs of Jewish mystics, and the rabbis of the Talmud provide the basis for this textual examination of Jewish views on sexuality.   Diverse biblical texts are used to explore reasons why Judaism and Christianity have distinctive beliefs and attitudes about sexuality.

“I would like to thank you for your fascinating talk and discussion.  We thoroughly enjoyed meeting you and learned a great deal about Jewish perspectives on an important issue in our lives.  As a ‘minority within a minority,’ we seldom have the opportunity to discuss our sexuality in a Jewish context.  Your expertise in Jewish ethics and sexuality is most evident to us and we appreciate your willingness to share your knowledge….You have…helped us find our way back to Judaism. ”  Dr. MSB
