“THE COURAGE TO ENCOURAGE”
Practice the words that will encourage children to ask good questions, teach them to make effective decisions, help them boldly risk failure in order to grow, and show them how to stay safe and healthy.  Learn when to talk and when to keep quiet, and how graphic to be. Come to trust that there is nothing you can’t talk about with kids.

“IT DOESN’T JUST TAKE A VILLAGE, IT TAKES A VOICE:  COURAGEOUS ADVOCACY FOR CHILDREN”
Use words that build partnerships with school, medical, and athletic program personnel to together prevent problems whenever possible, and resolve them when they inevitably arise.

“DISCIPLINE :  WHAT EVERY CHILD DESERVES”
No matter how hard they push and test their elders, no child wants to control you by being out of control.  Recognize how often and when they want to be told “no.”

“DISCIPLINE AND PUNISHMENT:  A CRITICAL DIFFERENCE”
What children feel and the lessons they take away when they are disciplined and when they are punished.

“CHILDREN, GOD AND PRAYER”
